Professional Staff

As Director of Client Service, Mr. Boehm is responsible for managing the call center staff for both day-to-day customer service issues and enrollments. Mr. Boehm works with our policy holders, clients and vendors to help ensure complete satisfaction among policy holders.

Prior to joining TWC, Mr. Boehm was Director of Underwriting for an international life settlement company, and has more than ten years’ experience in the insurance industry. He also has four years’ experience as an addictions counselor and served in the United States Marine Corps.

Mr. Boehm earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from Widener University. He also holds a life and health insurance license in the state of Maryland.

As Associate Director of Client Services, Ms. Boser is responsible for managing the implementation and ongoing administration of executive benefit plans. She works extensively with our clients and participants to provide administrative and support services.

Prior to joining TWC, Ms. Boser was an Account Executive with Integrated Health Strategies, formerly Clark Consulting. She has over 20 years of insurance and benefit plan administration experience, as well as seven years office management experience.

Ms. Boser earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with a minor in Marketing from Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.

As Executive Service Representative, Ms. Churby is responsible for assisting clients with service needs, interacting with carriers, researching and addressing all questions and providing an efficient response. Ms. Churby also works with the Communications Department preparing marketing packets, maintaining inventory of communication materials, and providing marketing research and support. In addition, Ms. Churby assists the Office of the Chairman, as well as several other departments including the Call Center of the Voluntary Benefits Department.

Prior to joining The Warner Companies, Ms. Churby spent 13 years with a national executive benefit consulting firm as an Executive Assistant.

As Receptionist, Ms. Costa is responsible for greeting and directing all visitors, handling incoming calls, and special administrative projects including written correspondence and proposal preparation.

Ms. Costa earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business, and a minor in Psychology, from Eastern University. Prior to TWC, Ms. Costa was an Independent Sales Consultant for nine years and also worked as an Office Manager. She is a key part in the daily administration of the office.

As Associate Director, Multi-Life Service, Ms. Cox is responsible for managing the implementation and administration of executive benefit plans. Services include new business enrollment, billing, policy delivery, renewals, and ongoing client support and administration.

Ms. Cox obtained her Associate of Arts degree in Business Law from Villa Julie College in 1980 and has worked in the insurance industry since 1984.

As Case Manager, Mr. Drennan is responsible for planning, implementation and ongoing management of client engagement throughout the course of the plan year. He has an extensive background in project management.                                                               

Prior to joining The Warner Companies, Mr. Drennan was the Marketing Director for a local, private membership establishment where he developed and evaluated marketing strategies and conducted surveys and interviews to gather and analyze customer insight.             

Mr. Drennan attended the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film and Video Studies.

As Associate Director – Private Client, Mr. Edwards is primarily responsible for generation of financial analysis supporting comprehensive investment and financial plans. This includes research and client recommendations in the areas of retirement, investments, estate, tax, and insurance as well as gathering data and monitoring industry trends and communicating these internally. Additionally, he is responsible for the implementation of recommendations once accepted by the client.

Mr. Edwards has served as a Financial Advisor for more than two decades. He is involved in the managing and trading of individual portfolios, personal financial planning and researching investment recommendations.

Prior to joining TWC, Mr. Edwards has worked at Morgan Stanley, Charles Schwab and the Wealth Management division of PNC Bank.

As Senior Associate - Private Client, Ms. Ellsworth is responsible for service, operations, and implementation of recommendations within the Private Client area. This includes new business as well as service of the firm's existing clientele.

Prior to joining TWC, Ms. Ellsworth worked at Akers Financial Group as the client data coordinator. Ms. Ellsworth was responsible for tracking investments, transactions, creating reports, assisting clients with website access and research. Ms. Ellsworth also worked for Kissinger Financial in client administration.

Ms. Ellsworth is a graduate of Goucher College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance.

As Chief Investment Officer, Mr. Elphick manages The Warner Companies Individual Portfolio Investment Practice, offering customized portfolios to high net worth individuals and institutions.

Prior to joining TWC, Derek Elphick was a Portfolio Manager for United Bankshares, where he served as head of asset allocation for United Wealth Management’s Investment Committee. There he oversaw portfolios for pension funds, foundations and endowments, and high net worth families. Before that, he served as Senior Business Development Manager for Endo Health Solutions, specializing in pipeline and portfolio planning in the healthcare sector.

Mr. Elphick received a Bachelor’s Degree in finance from the University of Scranton. He is a CFA® charterholder and member of the CFA Society of Washington, DC.  He also is a registered representative with Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) holding the Series 7 and 63 securities registrations.

As Director - Private Client, Ms. Gerhart is responsible for insurance service and assistance on daily tasks and special projects for the Investment and Planning Department, including client account reconciliations and data management, research and data gathering, maintenance of compliance logs, preparation of materials for client meetings and quarterly statements, and coordination of the annual tax return process.

Ms. Gerhart is a graduate of West Virginia University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Multidisciplinary Studies, with concentrations in advertising, communications, sports and exercise psychology.

Prior to joining TWC, Erica worked for the British Embassy in Washington, DC as an Examiner and Correspondence Officer.

As Vice President of Voluntary Benefits, Ms. Gran oversees the implementation and administration of voluntary benefit plans. She is responsible for coordinating the proposal process and managing the enrollment strategy and logistics for voluntary benefit enrollments. She also assists with the recruitment and training of the enrollment team.

 

Ms. Gran has over 20 years of experience in marketing and insurance. Prior to joining The Warner Companies, she was Director of Marketing and Administration for a local insurance firm and spent seven years as an Account Manager for wellPORTAL, LLC in Las Vegas, NV, supervising the patient-centered medical home health care program for clients, including corporations and unions within Las Vegas, Nevada with 500 to 2,500 employees.

Ms. Gran is a graduate of Towson University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications with a specialization in Advertising.

As Senior Engineer, Mr. Green is responsible for data analysis and systems administration, reconciliations, commissions tracking, automating processes and developing internal databases.

Prior to joining The Warner Companies, Mr. Green worked as a Sales Associate for a local music company handling the daily operations, and as a band manager, managing marketing strategies on various social media platforms, graphic design and website maintenance.

Mr. Green received his bachelor’s degree in Computer Music and Multimedia from Brown University and a Master of Professional Studies, Cybersecurity from University of Maryland Baltimore County. Adam completed General Assembly, Software Engineering Immersive, a three (3) month program on front- and back-end programming languages, tools, and methodologies.

 

As Case Manager, Mrs. Hastings is responsible for planning, implementation and ongoing management of client engagement throughout the course of the plan year.

Before joining TWC, Mrs. Hastings worked for Employee Benefit Services of Maryland for three (3) years, as well as Consolidated Insurance Center. She has experience in employee benefits, voluntary benefits, and conducting open enrollments. Mrs. Hastings holds her Life and Health Insurance license.

As Vice President of Employee Benefit Operations, Ms. Hinchy leads the Employee Benefits team of Consultants to ensure successful client relationships. She oversees the general process management for a first class experience for our clients. Ms. Hinchy is also responsible for the planning and implementation of prospective client accounts, as well as the ongoing administration and benefit consultation for existing client accounts.

Ms. Hinchy has over 27 years of financial, marketing and client services experience. Prior to joining TWC, she worked as an Underwriting & Client Services Director with HMS Insurance Associates, Inc.

Ms. Hinchy attended Harford Community College focusing on Accounting and Business Administration. She completed the Dale Carnegie Leadership Training for Managers and holds a life and health insurance license in the state of Maryland.

 

As Senior Consultant, Ms. Kinsey is responsible for health and welfare benefit plan consulting, including; strategic planning, vendor management, marketing, plan implementation, renewals, as well as the ongoing administration for existing clients.

Ms. Kinsey has over 26 years’ experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining The Warner Companies, she worked as a Lead Enroller/Case Manager with The VB Shop, managing the implementation of benefit programs for broker partners and clients.

Ms. Kinsey has an Associate’s Degree from Anne Arundel Community College and holds life and health insurance licenses in Maryland, DC, Virginia and West Virginia.      

As a Call Center Service Representative, Ms. Kissel is responsible for assisting clients with service needs, addressing all questions and providing an accurate and efficient response.

Ms. Kissel graduated from McDaniel College with a Bachelor’s Degree in English with minors in Writing and Sociology. She was a Resident Advisor, helping other students resolve differences, and tutored in the Writing Center where she assisted students to improve their writing skills. Ms. Kissel holds a life and health insurance license in the state of Maryland.

As Vice President, Information Systems, Ms. Kosiorek designs, analyses and evaluates programming and technology solutions for our business systems. She has developed a proprietary database to house detailed information on plan participants, policies, status, and eligibility for various plans providing TWC a process to quickly and easily advise clients and carriers. She acts as the liaison to ensure data accuracy and integrity between clients and vendors, and has enhanced the TWC reporting capabilities by creating concise benefits reports. She also develops strategies for data management and the overall implementation of the databases.

Prior to joining TWC, Ms. Kosiorek was the Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis for Johns Hopkins Healthcare where she oversaw the EHP line of business. She developed and maintained budgets for both the EHP line of business and the Managed Care Division of Johns Hopkins Healthcare. She also conceived, designed and implemented a system to audit claims and setup.

Ms. Kosiorek holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Loyola College and has over 20 years of accounting and data management experience.

As Administrative Assistant/Licensing Coordinator, Ms. Marquez provides direct administrative support for the Office of the Chairman, assisting the CEO and Chief Operations Officer. She also manages the licensing and appointments for all licensed individuals at TWC, as well as helps facilitate the licensing process for our strategic partners.

Ms. Marquez also provides policy services for TWC’s licensed insurance agents, including updating and finalizing policy service changes, obtaining necessary records, and reviewing account history.

Before joining TWC, Ms. Marquez worked in Operations at the Galen College of Nursing and as a Credentialing Specialist for SAP Referral Services. She received her bachelor’s degree in public history from Stevenson University.

As Senior Account Manager, Ms. McComas is responsible for health and welfare benefit plan consulting, including strategic planning, vendor management, marketing, plan implementation, and renewals, as well as the ongoing administration for existing clients.

Ms. McComas has over 25 years’ experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining The Warner Companies, she worked as a Group Benefits Senior Account Manager with HMS Insurance Associates, serving as the primary contact for 80 clients for whom she managed Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and Disability benefit programs.

Ms. McComas has an Associate’s Degree from The Community College of Baltimore County and holds life and health insurance licenses in Maryland.

As Executive Assistant, Ms. Matheny manages the complex schedules and communications for the Chairman & CEO, President and Chief Marketing Officer, and Executive Vice President & Chief Investment Officer. She maintains relationships with clients, organizes meetings, arranges travel, helps implement new procedures, and performs a variety of administrative tasks.

Prior to joining TWC, Serena worked in philanthropy development for over a decade, where she served in a variety of roles supporting major healthcare organizations and an independent school in Baltimore City. During her career, she managed various CRMs, created and implemented events, collaborated with key stakeholders and boards, oversaw a multi-faceted grants program, and spearheaded new systems and processes.

Ms. Matheny received a dual bachelor’s degree in English Writing and Public Relations and Mass Communications from Towson University. For her study abroad at the University of London, Ms. Matheny earned an Honorary Strategic Public Relations Certificate. She continued her studies, where she received a graduate level certificate in Organizational Management and Leadership.

As Voluntary Benefits Associate, Ms. Milanese is responsible for supporting the Voluntary Benefits team by tracking financials and marketing documents, as well as providing assistance in case coordination.

Prior to joining TWC, Ms. Milanese worked as a teacher and family service coordinator, as well as the leasing manager for a large apartment complex. Her extensive volunteer work includes the Central Maryland chapters of both Big Brothers Big Sisters and Girl Scouts.

Ms. Milanese holds a bachelor’s degree from Towson University and received her master’s from Salisbury University.

As Director of Accounting, Ms. Mitchell is responsible for financial transactions received from various vendors on a monthly basis, entering information about new accounts, and reconciling existing accounts. She also provides administrative support to several departments and is a key part of the daily administration of the office.

Ms. Mitchell has over thirty years of Administrative and Accounts Payable experience and a track record of accurately and efficiently supporting overall accounting activities.

As Vice President - Planning, Mr. Oliver is responsible for working with both the Planning and Investment Departments on all aspects of the planning process, including insurance case design planning and financial analysis. While his primary focus is individual insurance case design, he also assists in design planning of executive benefit insurance cases.

Prior to joining TWC, Mr. Oliver worked in management within the employee service industry and as a Financial Analyst with a national engineering company. He has over 15 years of experience.

Mr. Oliver holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with Certificates in Finance and Technical Writing from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. He has obtained the Maryland state life and health licenses and is a registered representative with Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) holding the Series 6 securities registration.

As Senior Consultant, Ms. O’Neill is responsible for the planning and implementation of prospective client accounts, as well as the ongoing administration and benefit consultation for existing client accounts. This process includes gathering benefit plan information for the in force program, reviewing the existing benefit programs, generation of the initial RFP, rate negotiation and plan design analysis with the appropriate vendors, and consolidation of RFP responses into a final presentation. Ms. O’Neill works closely with the vendor and the client to help ensure a smooth implementation of the benefit program chosen by the client.

She has extensive experience with complex benefit programs, including self-insured and ASO funding arrangements. In addition to the marketing of benefit programs, Ms. O’Neill is also responsible for administration of employee benefit programs, including seeing the enrollment, billing, compliance, online technology and customer service functions.

Ms. O’Neill has 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining TWC, she held consulting and account management positions with Crawford Advisors/Wachovia Insurance Services and Integrated Health Services.

Ms. O’Neill graduated with honors from the University of Delaware with dual degrees; a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She has obtained a Master of Business Administration from the University of Baltimore, also graduating with honors. She holds a Maryland state life and health license and is an active volunteer with Girl Scouts, Junior Achievement and her local school system. She also supports a number of children’s charities as well as a golden retriever rescue group.

As Vice President - Private Client, Mr. Penzi is responsible for working with both the Planning and Investment Departments on all aspects of the planning process, including financial analysis and insurance case design, researching new investment opportunities and analyzing market trends. He also focuses on cultivating and maintaining collaborative relationships with The Warner Companies’ Strategic Partners. Mr. Penzi has developed a nationwide network of valued business relationships consisting of industry professionals, physicians and private business owners.

Mr. Penzi has over 12 years of experience in comprehensive financial consulting. Prior to joining The Warner Companies, he was a Senior Vice President at Heritage Strategies in New York. Mr. Penzi specialized in sophisticated estate, business, charitable and life insurance planning for affluent individuals, representing some of America’s most prominent families. He was responsible for the development and management of the firm’s clients and relationships with key intermediaries.

Mr. Penzi graduated from the Dolan School of Business at Fairfield University with a B.S. in Finance and Management. He earned his Chartered Financial Consultant® and Chartered Life Underwriter® designations from the American College of Financial Services and he is a Certified Financial Planner® as recognized by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc.

He holds FINRA's General Securities Representative (Series 7) and Uniform Securities Agent State Law (Series 63) securities registrations as well as life, accident and health insurance, and property and casualty insurance licenses.

As Systems Administrator, Mr. Purdum installs, configures, and maintains the organization’s IT systems, corporate network and other services. He installs new hardware and software and acts as part of the help desk to resolve hardware and software related problems for end users. He also manages system backup and data recovery, as well as system security.

In addition, Mr. Purdum evaluates new hardware, software and services, plans IT projects and related budgeting. He also works with third party vendors to determine and implement improvements and solutions as needed.

Mr. Purdum obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Information Systems from Towson University in 2001. He also holds a Maryland state life and health Insurance license.

As Senior Account Manager, Ms. Sheats is responsible for health and welfare benefit plan consulting, including; strategic planning, vendor management, marketing, plan implementation, renewals, as well as the ongoing administration for existing clients.

 

Ms. Sheats has over 30 years’ experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining The Warner Companies, she worked as an Account Manager with HMS Insurance Associates, Inc., managing over 80 small and larger group clients. She has experience in claims payment, enrollment and billing, and eligibility and commission accounting.

 

Ms. Sheats holds a life and health insurance license in the state of Maryland.

Ms. Stone is responsible for service operations and implementation of recommendations within the Private Client area. This includes new business as well as the service of the firm’s existing clientele.

Prior to joining TWC, Ms. Stone worked at Campbell & Company a Baltimore-based hedge fund as an Investment Operations Associate. Ms. Stone was responsible for daily investment transactions and assisted internal and external wholesalers with paperwork, procedures, and marking materials. Ms. Stone also worked for T.Rowe Price and Morgan Stanley.

Ms. Stone is a graduate of New England College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Technology and Communication.

As Vice President of Corporate Communications, Mr. Taylor is responsible for overseeing the development of all internal and external communications material, working with each department to prepare communication timelines and collateral for clients. He is the lead graphic designer responsible for the creation of all communication pieces for The Warner Companies as well as for clients, including but not limited to benefit guides, marketing kits, mailers, posters, flyers, and enrollment packets, as well as other customized collateral.

Prior to joining TWC, Mr. Taylor worked as an independent marketing and design consultant, following a career as a marketing coordinator/director. He has worked for pharmaceutical firms, advertising agencies, and retail chains, as well as catalog publishers and large wholesale distributors. As an independent consultant, he designed and produced B2B and B2C catalogs, medical manuals, educational material, and e-commerce websites.

Mr. Taylor received his Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Drexel University, where he was also General Manager of the university’s award-winning radio station. His work as a freelance writer has appeared in many national and regional publications.

As Director of Enrollment, Mr. Thompson is responsible for the marketing of new voluntary benefit products, carrier relationships, enrollment strategy for clients and overview of the team of benefit counselors deployed for open enrollment events.

Prior to joining TWC, Mr. Thompson worked in the benefits industry as an Account Manager, Account Executive and Director of Enrollment Strategy. His more than a decade of experience includes responsibility for client and vendor relations, strategic planning and implementation, project management, employee benefits design, and benefits enrollment.

Mr. Thompson is a licensed health and life producer. He is a graduate of Towson University with a degree in Business Administration.

As Senior Director – Private Client, Mr. Truss is involved in the managing and trading of individual portfolios, investment recommendations, and preparing quarterly performance statements. He is also responsible for researching new investment opportunities, analyzing market trends, as well as client communications in the Planning and Investments Departments.

Mr. Truss began his career in the financial services industry in 1998 with Legg Mason Wood Walker. In addition to Legg Mason, he held positions with ICMA Retirement Corporation and Citigroup Institutional Consulting. Prior to joining TWC, he was a senior analyst with a local institutional and high net worth consulting group.

Mr. Truss obtained a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Loyola College, and has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Towson University. He is a registered representative with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) member firm holding Series 7, 63, and 66 securities registrations and holds a Maryland state life license.
